BEST Theme Parks in Benidorm: Ticket Prices & Opening Times

Spending your vacation at a theme parked resort has become a very popular way to spend your vacation.

Similar to Orlando in Florida, with its Disney theme parks, Sea World and water parks, Benidorm has put itself on the map by presenting Terra Mitica, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar.

There are many theme parks in Spain but no location has as many close together as Benidorm has.

HOW TO GET TO BENIDORM

To spend your vacation in Benidorm you will need to book your flights to fly into Alicante, Murcia or Valencia airports. Hiring a car is also a must, as everything and everywhere is spread out. There is a bus and tram service once you are in Benidorm that will take you to Aqualandia and Mundomar for free if you purchase your tickets at the station, but Terra Mitica and Terra Natura are situated on the outskirts on the hills not far from the AP7 or N332 so your own transport is necessary.

TERRA MITICA THEME PARK

Terra Mitica is an Ancient World based theme park with roller coasters and rides. Rome, Greece, Iberia, Egypt and the Mediterranean Islands. There are rides for every member in the family from the scary Magnus Colossus and SynKope, while families can enjoy the Rapids Of Argos.

There are fifteen children rides which are the exact replicas of the more scarier adult rides. You cannot bring your own refreshments into the park, but there are plenty of restaurants and kiosks to stave off hunger and quench thirsts.

There are so many rides and rollercoaster and live shows and entertainment that it is impossible to have seen and done everything in Terra Mitica in one day.

Below is a video of various rides at Terra Mitica:

TERRA NATURA THEME PARK AND AQUA NATURA

Terra Natura the sister park is located just two minutes away. This theme park has a zoo and waterpark called Aqua Natura with over eight hundred meters of water slides and flumes. There is also a lovely large shallow pool filled with activities for those unable to swim.

Terra Natura is divided into four themed areas Pangea, Anerica, Asia and Europe with live shows and entertainment. Restaurants and kiosks are scattered throughout the park.

An experience not for the faint-hearted can be had at Aqua Natura swimming with sharks and rays. Terra Natura is open all year round although the water park opens just for the summer.

MUNDOMAR THEME PARK

Mundomar in the heart of Benidorm is Orlando’s answer to Sea World.

There are three live show not to be missed when visiting Mundomar. Mundomar dancing with dolphins is a forty minute show with synchronised swimmers doing ballet with the dolphins. Then there is a thirty minute show with sea-lions and a twenty minute parrot show.

Also new to the park is a giant aquarium which is open daily. There are many exotic birds like flamingos, and pelicans and other aquatic birds such as penguins.

New to the park this year are the lemurs, meerkats, owls and squirrel monkeys. Mundomar is an educational as well as fun entertaining theme park to visit. There are many areas to have your lunch and has a reputation of excellent quality. Mundomar also has a brilliant playground for children with swings, climbing frames and slides for children to burn off extra energy.

AQUALANDIA

Aqualandia is a water park located in the heart of Benidorm.

There are over twenty rides and flumes of various difficulties. In fact there are height restrictions on many of the rides of 125cms or the height of an average seven and a half year old as some of the rides are some of the most daring in heights, steepness and speed in Europe.

There are rides for the whole family and the mini zig zag, as well as the large adventure pool with its activities are firm favourites. The Black Hole, Kamikaze, Amazonas, Zoo Immersion, Rapids, Splash, Big Bang are just some of the rides.

As the Spanish sun is very strong remember to pack plenty of high factor sun lotion to keep your exposed skin healthy. There are a few cafeterias and rest areas scattered through the park to provide excellent quality food and refreshments. Take a minute before leaving the park to check out the photos taken of you and your family at the exits, they are pricey but are of excellent quality and make a fabulous memento.

Discounted tickets and vouchers can sometimes be found at the local supermarkets like the Eroski, Carrefour and McDonalds at the check-outs.
