Spain seems to be the home of Europe’s theme parks. Dotted throughout the country are an amazing array of theme parks and water parks similar to those in America.
The reason there are so many Spanish theme parks is because Spain is a very popular country for tourism. The fabulous climate and weather in Spain together with many glorious sandy beaches and historic cities draw visitors from around the world.
So when it comes to companies deciding where in Europe to set up theme parks, the reliable weather and tourist numbers from all over Europe and the world makes Spain an obvious choice.
Most theme parks are located near the big cities of Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. Other theme parks in Spain tend to be located near the popular tourist resorts on the coasts of the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca.
Below we list all the major theme parks and amusement parks in Spain. This guide also includes ticket prices, pass information, the location of the theme park, opening times and hours as well as a listing of the major rides and attractions of each park.
WARNER BROTHERS MOVIE WORLD MADRID
If visiting Madrid or nearby Toledo the theme park in the immediate vicinity is Warner Bros. Movie World or Parque Warner Madrid. Obviously this theme Park is completely based around entertainment and movies and the many characters from the movies. There is a great mixture of rides and shows so that everybody whether children or adults will be entertained and find something that they would enjoy.
Here you can visit the Chinese Theatre, walk along the walk of fame, enjoy the roller coasters and the Batman flight and the Superman ride. There are five different themed areas based on either the movies or particular characters from Warner Brothers films.
Opening Hours and Ticket Prices.
The park opens on the 19th of March and season tickets are available. A single ticket will cost €92, family with three people will cost €85 per person, four people will cost €80 per person, five or more will cost €60 per person. A normal day pass ticket costs €38 for adults and €29 for children.

PORT AVENTURA THEME PARK
Port Aventura theme park in Salou is located just one hour away from Barcelona and comes under the Universal Studios ownership. The Port Aventura Park is divided into themed areas such as Polynesia, China, Mexico, and Far West with rides, roller coaster rides, live entertainment and plenty of bars restaurants and shops.
There is also the Spanish region of Catalunya which is themed as a typical Mediterranean port. The highlight rides for the brave are an eight-loop rollercoaster called Dragon Kahn, Furius Baco and Hurakan.
The second sister park, Port Aventura Aquatic Park, is an aquatic park with rides and flumes, both parks have a fantastic array of restaurants and eateries, there are also some first class themed hotels nearby.
Port Aventuta opening times and dates – Port Aventura theme park opens on the 26th of March this year and will close its gates on the first of November although it will remain open at the weekends and over the Xmas holidays until the 9th of January 2011.
Port Aventura Ticket Prices
– A one day pass will cost you €44 although there is a two day pass available for €66 for adults. Children’s day tickets cost €35 for two days the ticket will cost €52.50. There are also three other types of tickets available, there is the Port Aventura Pass a four consecutive day pass costs €76 and €61 for children, a Port Aventura Plus Pass costs €79 for adults, and €65 for children, is available over a seven consecutive day period.
A Port Aventura Max Pass is available at €86 for adults and €69 for children fourteen consecutive days also including 50% reduction to Port Aventura Aquatic Park. The Port Aventura Aquatic park opens on the 22nd of May and closes on the 12th of September.

TERRA MITICA IN BENIDORM
Terra Mitica in Benidorm is an ancient world themed park with rides and rollercoasters. Here you can visit Egypt, Ancient Greece, Rome, Iberia and The Islands. Ride highlights include SynKope, Titanide and Inferno which sees riders being launched at 60km an hour whilst riding up, down, forward and backwards!
Terra Mitica ticket prices: Season passes are available at €35 for children and €67 for adults. Normal day tickets are €35 for adults and €26.50 for children.
Terra Mitica opening hours and dates: The park is open from the 19th of March and will close on the 18th of December 2010.
ISLA MAGICA IN SEVILLE
The Isla Magica in Seville opened its doors in 1997, it has seven themed areas spread around a lake. This 16th Century Spanish Colonial Theme Park has roller coasters, shows and a cinema.
The theme of Isla Magica is the history and culture of Spain portraying the adventures of the Spanish pioneers in the New World.
The seven themed areas are Port of The Indies, Quetzal of the Gods, Gateway to the America, Amazonia, The Pirates Cove, Fountain of Youth and Eldorado. Some of the highlights include El Dasafio, Ciklon and the new attraction Audiovisual.
Opening Hours, Dates & Prices
Times and dates: The park is open from March until October from eleven in the morning until midnight.
Isla Magica ticket prices: Tickets start at €25 for adults and €18 for children. Evening tickets are available for €18 for adults and €12,50 for children.
SIOUX CITY IN GRAN CANARIA
A Wild West theme park giving you the chance to go back in time to the time of Cowboys and Indians. This theme park is less rollercoaster ride orientated than most other theme parks in Spain, instead it is dominated by performances by the wonderful stunt actors. Children will absolutely love the shows and entertainment and the chance to dress up as Indians and other fun characters.
AQUA NATURA
Aqua Natura Is a water park in Benidorm as part of the Terra Natura complex. Consisting of rides and flumes this water park opens on the 22nd of May and closes the last week of September. Ticket prices are €21 for adults and €16 for children. Season tickets are available for Aqua Natura and Terra Natura for €56 adults and €46 for children.
Terra Natura
Terra Natura is a zooism theme park near Benidorm. Split into four regions this park provides live entertainment as well as admiring the various animals in their natural habitat. A day ticket will cost €23 for adults and €18 for children. Season passes are available at €46 for adults and €38 for children. A pass including the water park will cost €56 for adults and €46 for children.
Aqualandia
Aqualandia is a water park with rides and flumes in down town Benidorm. Opening its gates on the 22nd of May this park also offers a season pass for €65 for adults and €44 for children. The beauty of this pass is that you can use it in conjunction with visiting Mundomar. A normal day pass is €27 for adults and €20 for children. The park will close its gates early October.
Mundomar
Mundomar is a Sea World type theme park in Bendiorm. Here you can see fish, aquatic birds, dolphin, seal and parrot shows. The park is open all year round. A day ticket will cost €24 for adults and €18 for children.
Season tickets are available for €65 for adults and €44 for children which you can use for the water park Aqualandia next door as well.
Parque de Attractiones
Parque de Attractiones is situated near Madrid and is a fun filled park with roller coaster rides and more rides. Tickets with a bracelet allows you unlimited rides on all the machines and costs €29 for adults and €22 for children.
You can also enter the park for €10.60 but then some of the rides you will have to pay a supplement if you wish to go on the rides. The park is open all year round although out of the season the park is only open on the weekends and on holidays.
Parque Aquatico Mijas
Parque Aquatico Mijas opens its gates on the 26th of April. Adult tickets cost €18 for adults and €13 for children. Family tickets are available for €49 for a family of four. Parque Aquatico Mijas is a water park with rides and flumes with snack bars and rest areas scattered throughout the park.
Parque Aquatico Vera
Parque Aquatico Vera is a water park in Garrucha. Making use of Spain’s fantastic weather this park opens it gates on the 15th of May and closes them again on the 12th of September. Tickets cost €18 for adults and €13 for children. Children under the age of three may use the park’s facilities for free.
Lusiberia
Lusiberia in Badajoz is a water park which opens its gates on the 12th of June. Family passes are avialable for the summer for the princely sum of €219. Here you can enjoy the rides and flumes and have a great day out.
Water Kingdom Siam Park – Tenerife
The Water Kingdom Siam Park is one of the best and largest water parks in Europe and is located in Tenerife. Entrance prices for this park are €26 for adults and €17 for children. There is a large variety of rides and flumes and height restrictions apply to many of them. There are also special offers for visiting the Loro Parque next door which is the Parrot Park which work out at €45 for adults and €30 for children.
The Illa Fantasia is a water park situated near Barcelona. It has twenty three attractions, three pools, kiddie pool, mini golf and recreation areas. The park is open from the 22nd of May until the 12th of September. Opening hours are ten in the morning until seven in the evening. Ticket prices are €19.80 for adults and €15 for children. After two in the afternoon you can enter the park for €16 for adults and €13 for children. Season passes are available for €90 for adults and €70 for children.
Aqua Leon is the only safari and water park in Europe. Aqua Leon is located in Tarragona. The park opens its gates on June the 19th and will close them again on September the 12th. Tickets cost €22 for adults and €17 for children. The safari park itself where you can visit the animals is open all year round.
Aquopolis on the Costa Daurada is situated in La Pineda near Salou. The attraction includes water slides, wave pool, mini golf and various restaurants and fast food outlets. Here you can enjoy dolphin and sea lion shows as well and for a small charge you can have your picture taken with them. Tickets start at €23.50 per person. Season tickets are available for €73 for adults. Tickets for more people are discounted at €68 for three people and €63 for four. The park opens on the 31st of May.
Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada lies to the west of Madrid, is a water park with slides and flumes, opens its gates on June the 12th and here entrance fees are measured by height. People over 140 cm tall will pay €22.50 per person and those below will pay €17.50. Children under 90 cm are free.
Cabareno is a wild life park just twenty kilometres away from Santander. Cabareno is the largest safari park of its kind in Europe and it is always possible to see the baby animals in the park. Here you can also see ostriches, tigers, lions and elephants. The park opens on the first of April and closes on the 30th of September. Entrance tickets start from €14 for adults and €9.50 in the low season and go up to €20 for adults and €12 for children in the high season.
Dinopolis is a dinosaur park near Teruel. A day ticket will cost adults €22 and children €17. Dinopark is one of five dinosaur theme parks in the area, the Legendark, Inhopsitak, Egion Ambarina, Bosque Petreo, Mar Nummus make more days of pleasure and additional €2.50 for each park will gain you entrance to enjoy fun times there.
Pirenarium is a miniature theme park located near Zaragoza. Tickets start at €10 for adults and €9 for children. There is a play area for children and cinema magic as well.
Sendadviva has attractions with rides and roller coasters as well as interaction with exotic animals. This Spanish theme park is located in Tuleda near Zaragoza. The park is open only on weekends from the 22nd of May and then from July it is open daily, the park closes its gates on the first of November. A day ticket will cost €22 for adults and €15 for children. Under the age of four the children may enter the park free of charge.
Bioparc is located in Valencia. This is a fantastic zoo with animals such as gorillas, hippopotami, and elephants in their natural habitats. Enjoy your lunch with the meerkats and explore the caves. The park is open all year round. A day ticket will cost €21 for adults and €15.50 for children. An annual pass is available for €51 for adults and €39 for children.
Aquarium Donostia in San Sebastian is one of the city’s most important attractions. The Aquarium is located at the end of the pier and has a vast variety of sharks and other species of fish in its tanks. You can also watch the sharks being born.
L’Aquarium Barcelona. This park is open all year around. Tickets start at €17.50 for adults and €12.50 for children. Here you can go diving with sharks.
Marineland is situated at Palafolls near Barcelona and there is also a Marineland in Mallorca. Marineland has a marine zoo and a water park. The parks are open from May the 10th until the 17th of September. Ticket prices cost €24 for adults and €17 for children.
Loro Parques is located in Puerto La Cruz in Tenerife. It is the sister park to the Water Kingdom Siam Park. The Loro Parque has orcas, dolphins, sea lions and parrots on display as well as an aquarium, as well as gorillas, tigers and chimpanzees. Ticket prices are €38 for adults and €21 for children.
There is a Zoo Aquarium in Madrid. Tickets to visit this exciting park cost €18.65 for adults and €16.10 for children. The park is open to visitors all year round.
Faunia – Madrid
Faunia in Madrid is an educational park with over 1500 species of animals from different climates and ecosystems. The park is divided into four different climate zones and only here do you get to experience these all in a day. Entrance tickets cost €17.50 for adults and €12 for children.
Ciudad de los Artes y las Ciencias
Ciudad de los Artes y las Ciencias is located in Valencia in a complex dedicated to science nature and art. The Oceanografico is Europe’s largest aquarium with over five hundred different species of fish.
The Palau de los Arts Reina Sofia has opera productions. There are different types of tickets available to different parts of the complex. Hesmeric costs €7.50, the Science Museum €7.50. The Oceanografico Aquarium costs €23.90. A combined ticket will cost €31.60 and season passes cost €75.
