Algorfa is a small inland town on the southern Costa Blanca in Spain close to Benejuzar, Almoradi, Heredades and Formentera del Segura.
If you would like to make Algorfa your next holiday destination you can either fly into Alicante airport or that of Murcia. Both airports are within a thirty minute drive of the resort.
Once at the airport you have a range of different airport transfer options to Algorfa including private shuttle buses, taxis or car hire.

Algorfa weather being situated on the southern Costa Blanca is blessed with a Mediterranean climate meaning that there are over three hundred days of sunshine and very little winter rainfall, in fact the annual average temperature is 20 degrees centigrade.
Economically Algorfa still relies heavily on citrus farming mainly oranges and lemons. Algorfa is a relatively small community with a little over 2000 permanent residents, with all the newly built apartments Algorfa is still a quiet place to enjoy a relaxing holiday to recharge your batteries and get away from it all.
Amenities and Facilities
In the town of Algorfa itself, there are several traditional Spanish tapas bars, several shops including a pharmacy and optician.
Algorfa restaurants worth visiting include Baybrooks, Bar La Cascada and La Vista.
Nearest Beaches to Algorfa
The nearest beach to enjoy the beach experience is Guardamar with its fine sandy blue flag beach, bars and restaurants a mere five minute drive away.
The nearest large city with its attractions, waterparks, shopping, marina, museums, bars, restaurants and promenade is Torrevieja.
There are numerous local markets on different days of the week in many surrounding towns, villages and resorts.
Algorfa Golf – La Finca Golf
Some people think that Algorfa is a golfers paradise with the superb 5 star La Finca Course on its doorstep, but there are numerous other high quality golf courses on the Costa Blanca within easy reach, including Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, and just an hour drive away is the famous La Manga Club. Green fees average £25 – £40 for 18 holes.

Directions and how to get to La Finca golf: La Finca is approximately 30 minutes drive from Alicante El Altet airport which is 30 Km away. San Javier (Murcia) airport is 40 Km away to the south. Take the AP -7 (autoroute Alicante Cartagena) exit 743.
How much does it cost for a round of golf at La Finca? You need to check directly with La Finca for latest green fees as they change often but it will cost approximately 75 Euros to play golf at La Finca.
New in 2002 La Finca golf is set in the Vega Baja countryside surrounded by beautiful orange and lemon groves. Situated at the bottom of Mount Escotera, this location offers fantastic views of the Segura region.

Excursions and Days Out from Algorfa
Other cities worth visiting within an hour drive of Algorfa are Elche with its thousand palm trees, Alicante with its castle and promenade, Murcia with its gardens and theatres as well as Cartagena a harbour town of Roman origins.

Adam, what would you say would be the advantages to living in Algorfa compared to other Costa Blanca towns?
Algorfa is a very large area with many urbanizations and properties for all the budgets.
What are your favourite things to do in the area?
There is a fantastic Golf Course in La Finca and urbanization located in Algorfa. There are also many traditional Spanish fiestas in the main village.
Are there many facilities such as doctors and dentists, shops etc?
There are a lot of amenities ( bars, shops, supermarkets, golf course…) in Algorfa.
Are there smaller villages nearby that you might also recommend?
Urb. Ciudad Quesada ( Rojales ) is also a very nice area to live because it’s one of the biggest developments of all the area.
What are the nearest international schools and how good are they?
The best Norwegian school of the area is located in Ciudad Quesada which is at only 5 minutes by car from Algorfa.
What urbanisations are there and can you describe each one and how they might differ from each other?
• Urb. La Finca Golf is a luxury development located in the suburbs of Algorfa. La Finca has one of the best Golf Courses of all the Costa Blanca.
• Urb. Montebello is a very small development located at 10 minutes of the main village of Algorfa.
• Urb. Lo Crispin is a calm and big urbanization located at 15 minutes of the main village. It has golf and many types of detached villas offered at very good prices.
How much are the typical property prices in Algorfa for apartments, villas etc?
Property prices go between 20,000 and 120,000 euros for Apartments and Bungalows, Duplex… and between 100,000 and 600,000 euros for villas.
Regarding the rental prices for Apartments, Bungalows… It’s between 300 and 500 euros per month then for Villas between 600 and 1,500 euros per month.

We have lived just outside Algorfa for over 12 years (on Urb. Montebello).
It is easily located and a comfortable ride from Alicante Airport and Mercia.
We like it for many reasons after moving from the UK over 12 years ago.
The climate is good all year round, and if you’re looking for beaches etc there are many to choose from to the east only 20kms away.
Services and facilities are good. Food and restaurants are excellent, and there’s plenty to choose from, at a very reasonable price.
All in all, an excellent place to live and make your home, or visit friends,, or holiday.
