Guide to the theme park of Terra Natura in Benidorm on Spain’s Costa Blanca.
Next to Terra Natura is the separate but obviously related water park called Aqua Natura.
You can buy a ticket for both or just visit them separately.
TERRA NATURA THEME PARK
Terra Natura is the sister park of Terra Mitica located on the hillsides of Benidorm on sunny Spain’s Northern coastline.
Terra Natura is a theme park with animals in a zoo like environment.
Also inside the park there is Aqua Natura, a water park with slides and flumes. There are also bars and restaurants scattered all over the park.
Terra Natura has its gates open all year round, although the Aqua Natura water park is only open during the summer months.
Terra Natura is open all year round generally from 10 in the morning until 8 in the evening.
The park is over 320,000 square metres and is divided into four themed areas. Pangea is at the entrance of the park, America, Asia and Europe. During the season at the entrance of the gift shop there is free face painting with the most incredible designs.
AQUA NATURA WATER PARK – RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS
At Aqua Natura you will find over 800 meters of water slides a huge pool for those who can’t swim filled with mini slides water pistols, activities and so much more. If you are brave enough then you can also go and swim with the sharks and rays.
There are four restaurants inside the park. The Mediterranean Reef Restaurant, Sardeles Bar, Ice’s Corner and Nicola’s Boat. You can stock up on gifts, clothes and sun tan lotion at the Sun Sea Shop.
TERRA NATURA RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS
In the land of Asia you can see tigers, water buffalo different species of gazelles, deer, crocodiles, cobras, pythons and elephants. Don’t forget to trip on the zip wire over the elephants. On the entertainment front you can enjoy music, theatre, puppet shows, percussion, shows with elephants and tigers, there are shows like the Maharaja’s Artist, the Magic Carpet Seller, The Tiger, Sacred Cows, and the Elephant Havali.
The restaurants where you can assuage your hunger and thirst are Garam Masala, The India Tea House, Jaipur Cold, Maharaja Cafe and Bombay Glace. Gifts can be bought at the Majabharata Shop, India’s Company Store, Ashvata Bazaar and Hindi Sugar.
In The European Zone you can go for donkey rides and look at the fallow deer and roe bucks, partridges, curlew, swans and wild ducks. On the entertainment front there are street shows, puppet shows, and music.
You can enjoy your meals and refreshments at Estiatorio Ayios Nikolaus, Zacharoplasteio Kalicameni, and Taverna Dimitis. Gifts and souvenirs can be purchased at Magasi Mi Suvnir, Galeria Monastiraski, Papelaxandris.
In the American sector you will find ant eaters, armadillos, monkeys, ocelots, jaguars, toucans, spoonbills, herons and jungle turkeys. You can enjoy show with exotic birds, music, dancing, legends and pole flying, Moonlight Serenade, Shaman and flight of Quetzalcoatl.
Dining and drinking can be done at Cantina La Esquinita, Dona Maria La Acunada, Jugos y Helados Comal. Gifts and souvenirs can be bought at the Dream Of Butterflies, and Mecadito Popol.
Pangea is portrayed by surreal plant and animal life, giant insects and praying mantises in fantasies with crocodiles and tigers in interactive shows. Food and drinks can be enjoyed at Riolita, La Salamandra de Jaspe, and souvenirs and gifts can be purchased at the bazaar Cristal de Roca.
2015 TERRA NATURA TICKET PRICES
So how much do 2015 tickets for Terra Natura cost?
Terra Natura is open all year round but again owing to economics not open on a daily basis. The park is open every day from March through until the end of October and open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the months of January, February, November and December. Terra Natura is open during the winter months from 10:30-17:00. During the school holidays Terra Natura is open until 19:00. During the months of June at the weekends the park is open until 20:00, as its is also during the whole of July and August and the first week of September. Outside of those times the park shuts at 18:00.
Terra Natura is a great park to visit with the family as there are exotic animals to be studies, shows to be watched as well as the ability to enjoy rides at a water park from the 15th of May until the 31st of October. Day tickets to visit Terra Natura are priced at €29 for adults and €23.50 for pensioners and children. To access the water park during your visit and additional fee of €12 is payable at the gate. It is cheaper to purchase a ticket on-line to visit both parks on the day for €35 for adults and €28 for pensioners and children. Children under the age of 3 can enjoy a free day at the parks when accompanied by an adult.
Season tickets are valid for exactly 12 months and not for the calendar year.
Aqua Natura – tickets are priced at €29 for adults and €23.50 for children aged 12 and under and pensioners. A small supplement of €12 can be paid to access the main park of Terra Natura for the day on the day, but you can save money on-line by purchasing a day ticket to visit both parks at the price of €35 for adults and €28 for children and pensioners. Meal plans can be bought for €8 for children and €10 for pensioners and adults.
Season tickets to visit both parks are priced at €69 for adults and €58 for pensioners and children. A season ticket provides good value for money for visitors who intend to spend time at Terra Natura and Aqua Natura as you will have your money back after two visits and parking fees are included in the price of a season ticket.
Swimming with sea lions €35.
If you are looking for cheap tickets for Terra Natura or Aqua Natura go to the McDonalds in Benidorm or the Benidorm La Marina shopping centre where you will often find discount vouchers being handed out by the theme park reps.
Single buggies can be rented for €7 for a day, season ticket holders €4, €1 deposit, double buggy rental €9 and €6 for season ticket holders, electric scooters can be rented for the day for €28 or €15 for season ticket holders.
Floats and lockers can each be rented for €5 for the day or €4 for season ticket holders while sun loungers cost €4 or €3 for season ticket holders.
As mentioned above it is cheaper to ask for a combined ticket to both parks if you wish to make the most of your day.
It is quite possible and enjoyable to pack a lunch and have a picnic at Terra Natura and enjoy a fabulous day out watching the shows seeing the animals during the winter months. A season pass is a worthwhile investment to entertain the family. Remember to check out your picture at the entrance to the park.
