    Alicante Taxi to Javea

How much does it cost to get a taxi from Alicante airport to Javea?

taxis-alicante-airport To get a taxi from Alicante airport to Javea costs approximately €130  but always check with your driver before you start the journey because sometimes there are extra passenger supplements and baggage supplements on top.

Your taxi fare could also be higher if you happen to live on a national holiday in Spain of which there are many.

Getting a taxi to Javea from Alicante is extremely convenient because your driver will take you directly to your accommodation options such as your Javea hotel.

This is the fastest and most convenient way to get to Javea but certainly not the cheapest.

You should try and fix the fare with the driver prior to departure from the airport.

    Private Shuttle to Javea

How much is a private shuttle bus from Alicante to Javea?

Shuttle companies such as Costa Blanca Transfers, Shuttle Direct, Blue Skies and Resort Hoppa offer a service which one can pre book to suit the size of the party. This kind of transfer is much like a taxi service with the exception that the transfer is pre booked with the option of using the shuttle service as well on the day of departure.

Journey times are also seventy five minutes with a very similar cost of €120. It pays to shop around and compare prices with the various shuttle service companies.

Example of return transfer costs – from Alicante airport to Javea for 2 passengers in March would be €220 which is about £180.

The nice thing about booking a private shuttle transfer is that it is almost exactly the same as getting a taxi because you will be dropped at your chosen destination in Javea. The only possible slight inconvenience is meeting up with your shuttle transfer company.

Many of the major companies have desks actually in the arrivals terminal but some do not, so you actually have to meet a person who will take you to your shuttlebus.

Some companies offer what is known as shared shuttle bus transfers which are cheaper than the private transfers but obviously you share the journey with a number of other people also going to Javea and you are each dropped off in turn. This is fine if you are the first people to be dropped off but not if you are the last people! The size of vehicles vary from small mini-buses to coach transfers to Javea.

Alternatives are private shuttlebus transfers from Valencia airport to Javea for £78 per person each way or private shuttle bus transfers from Murcia airport to Javea for £100 per person each way.

Javea Car Hire at Alicante Airport

One of the more popular ways to get from Alicante Airport to Javea. Javea is fairly spread out and does not have much of a transport system, and unless one has booked accommodation close to the Arenal Beach one will need a car to get around to the supermarkets, bars, pubs and restaurants.

Car hire companies include Atesa, Auriga, Avis, Centauro, Europcar, Europa, Gold Car, Hertz, Record, Sixt and Sol Mar.

Costs of hiring a car are dependent on the time of year, model and duration of the rental period.

The journey time of course would also be approximately seventy-five minutes.

You can choose to pre book car hire which is a smart thing to do especially during the busy tourist season or organise the car hire after arriving at Alicante Airport.

Because Javea is quite a distance from either Alicante or Valencia it can be more economical to hire a car instead of getting airport transfers. Certainly there are some excellent places to visit such as Denia, Moraira, Guadalest and Altea.

There is also a more direct service whereby one can catch the bus to Benidorm from Alicante Airport and then catch a connecting bus to Javea, but this service is a little more infrequent. All services connecting Alicante to Javea are provided by the ALSA bus company.

Train from Alicante Airport to Javea

There is currently no train station at Alicante Airport, but one could catch either a taxi or the bus to the train station in the Alicante City Centre and the catch a train to Benidorm with a connection to Gata de Gorgos and from there catch another taxi to the booked accommodation in Javea. The duration of this trip could be as much as five hours at a cost of approximately €70.

Transfers Page Summary: It is a personal choice of how much money one is willing to spend on the transfer from Alicante Airport and Javea and how much time one wants to spend in transit.

Car hire does seem to be the way to go for vacations in Javea especially if one has booked a villa on one of the more outer lying urbanisations of the resort.

Factual correction: Jávea is not the most eastern part of mainland Spain. Take a look at the map. The Spanish coast curves around to the east as you get closer to the French border.
