Pilar de la Horadada Tourist & Holiday Guide – What To See & Do

Where is Pilar de la Horadada?

Pilar de la Horadada is sixty-six kilometres south of Alicante and is one of the most southerly towns on the Orihuela Coast on the southern Costa Blanca.

Pilar de la Horadada and its neighbours Torre de la Horadada and Pinar de Campoverde are home to thousands of expats from Great Britain and Germany who provide many of the necessary services for the running of a first class holiday resort.

Pilar de Horadada is a lively Spanish seaside resort on the Southern Costa Blanca with easy access from Alicante and Murcia international airports.

Pilar de Horadada enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year and a Mediterranean climate.

Beaches (Playas)

Pilar de Horadada has a wonderful stretch of blue flag beaches with fine sand and clear waters covering four kilometers.

The beach of Mil Palmeras Playa is popular with sailing and water sport enthusiasts, links the Rincon and Puerto inlets which has a fantastic promenade with shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. During the summer months this promenade comes alive with the tourist throng. Las Villas Playa is the longest beach with a smaller beach at La Mojon.

Sights and Landmarks to See

Worthwhile historical monuments which are places of interest are located in the town in the form of the local parish church, the Nuestra Señora del Pilar, and the Watch Tower which date from the fifteenth century.

Pilar de la Horadada

This whole area is a golfers’ paradise with three top notch courses just a short ten minute drive away. Pilar de la Horadada weather is nice and mild in the winter and scorching hot in the summer.

Alicante Airport is a forty minute transfer away and Murcia is a short twenty minute transfer away. Once at the airport you have a range of different airport transfer options to Pilar de la Horadada including private shuttle buses, taxis or Pilar de la Horadada car hire.

Torrevieja is the nearest major town for all those days out at the water parks for those families who wish for a more action packed vacation and for those which seek nightlife in the form of discos and nightclubs such as Oz.
