Ask The Pinoso Property Expert

We ask Shiraz, owner of Stratus International some questions about Pinoso:

I am thinking of buying a holiday home property in the Pinoso area, can you help me?

SHIRAZ: yes we certainly can. I have been living and working in this area for nine years now so and well-placed to help you with whatever you decide to do.

Can you recommend nearby better areas than Pinoso and why?

SHIRAZ: it really depends on what you want? What is important to you? When we bought in Pinoso, we did a lot of homework and research before we decided and settle on this area – having been here for over nine years, clearly we made the right choice 🙂

We enjoy it, whether it’s right for you, really depends on what you are looking for? And the sort of lifestyle you are hoping to achieve?

Which are the best urbanisations or developments to buy in Pinoso and surrounding area?

SHIRAZ: it is not really that kind of area… We do not have urbanisation is for development… This is a traditional Spanish working town which incidentally is the fifth wealthiest town in Spain! The town gets a lot of its wealth from the marble mines and also the salt mine in the area. what this means is that the infrastructure and facilities available are fabulous! Everything you could want on a day-to-day basis is available in Pinoso.

What is the average cost for a 2-bed apartment or villa which I am looking at?

SHIRAZ: two very different extremes… You can get a two bed apartment from about 30,000 which is a bank repossession. in terms of detached properties, then you are looking in the region of about 120,000 plus .

Can I rent it long-term and if so how much would I get (approx.)

SHIRAZ: yes that is an option available, again it depends on the property that you own. The average rent tends to be about 500 per month.

Is Pinoso a good place to live?

SHIRAZ: I believe so yes. Both my children were born here and go to the local school here. It is a very safe and friendly town to be in.

Should I move to Pinoso?

SHIRAZ: sadly that is a decision only you can make once you have been to the place.

Is there crime in Pinoso?

SHIRAZ: if there is, it is very low. Not something that we often hear about. As I said, a very safe and secure place to live…

Are there English-speaking dentists and doctors nearby?

SHIRAZ: yes there are

Do many expats live here already?

SHIRAZ: approximately 10% of the population are expats but this includes South Americans, Dutch, English, French, etc

Where are the nearest beaches?

SHIRAZ: Alicante…. Approximately 45/50 min away

What is there to do in the Pinoso area?

SHIRAZ: as much or as little as you want to do… The town is also very well positioned for three large cities which are approximately 25 min away. you have Elche which is approximately 35/40 min away and Alicante itself which is approximately 45 min. Murcia is around 50 min and Valencia is one and a half hours. as you can see, it is well positioned to reach a wide range of places within a short time.

Are there International schools in Pinoso?

SHIRAZ: there are four schools in Pinoso, but none of them are international schools. The nearest international school I believe is around 30 min away.
