Why Retirement is a Terrible Idea (And What to Do Instead)...
For 30 years, I built businesses with one goal in mind: the finish line. Like many, I pictured the classic dream—moving to Spain, soaking up the sun, and finally switching off. Whale-watching and dolphin-watching boats depart from most of the main southern resorts which include Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos.
There are up to 26 different marine species to spot but common sightings include the short-finned pilot whale and the bottlenose dolphin. Many whales are migrating to the Arctic, including the blue whale, the largest creature on the planet.
How much do these excursions cost?
Boat tours usually last from 2-5 hours, costing around €20-€50 per person, including meals, drinks and a couple of stops to enjoy a swim in the ocean in the warmer months.
